Disagree with four though. I really don't like effects to be added on. _________________ thing was i wasn't wearing shoulder pads when i first pressed play. by the end i was working on wall street and murdering prostitutes. |

Really? It can work for some stuff but things like reverb sound better in 99% of songs when it's added after. Most tracks will have some reverb on them and if they are all recorded with it on then everything sounds sloppy and confused. Could sound great for the Kiss Off but it would be awful for The Minions.
When I do a take I like to have the effects on the monitor but I record everything dry where possible.
I would add another point to the list and that would be "learn how to use a compressor.......No learn how to use a compression.........No! Learn.How.To.Use.A.Compressor."
I think I've broken every single one of those rules at some point though in my case it's usually because the equipment I have is so shit it leaves me with no choice. _________________ I don't believe you........you're a liar
