major problems

Ok, there seem to be major problems with the forum:-

Avatars disappearing if changed
Posts disappearing
Posts appearing in the wrong order
Timing of posts all gone mad.
Logging off unexpectedly
Posts showing as unread when they've been read

Also, I sometimes get the "you cannot make another post so soon" message when I haven't posted anything.

Do we have a volunteer to look into this, as it's beyond my level of expertise? i.e. none at all

Not that I'm any expert in this sorta stuff or anything, but it sounds like server issues rather than the forum settings and stuff.

If the above is true, then I think your best bet would be to talk to your host...

I have a hunch that it's connected to the change of server. The forum time is correct (GMT +1) but the forum still shows random times for posts. Surely this must be due to the hosts fannying about with the server (on, off, on, off, reset, on, off, reset the time). Then the forum tries to put posts in the order that it thinks posts were made in, but the timings are wrong due to the server not knowing what time it is.

Does this sound plausible, bearing in mind that I have no idea what I am talking about?

PS I posted the above before reading George's post. I've not gone back in time and nicked his idea or anything.

If it is the server, then I'll see if it settles over a couple of days, then phone them. On Friday.
